King Bed Pillow Arrangement

There’s nothing better than sinking into a large, well-made bed with a sumptuous quilt and comfy mattress.

If you’re into uber modern trends such as slatted wood walls and cane lamps then a three-pillow arrangement in its quirky simplicity can work for you.

Select two square shaped pillows in a plain fabric and then add a rectangular patterned pillow across the center of the two for interest. A clean and fabulously stylish designer look.

Four Pillows on A King Bed

For boutique hotel chic, then make yours a choice of four crisp white rectangular pillows. If simplicity and precision is your bag then four pillows neatly presented on the vertical will be the look you’ll love.

Minimalists will hate the clutter of lots of pillows on the bed but will of course appreciate the classic comfort of two pillows. 

Party of Five Pillows

If you have a large headboard then you will not want to detract too much from it by adding too many pillows. A linen look upholstered headboard will be the perfect backdrop for a group of five pillows.

Keep the colors in natural tones and white, beginning the layering with two standard sized rectangular pillows first, then two square and matching textured pillows and topped off by one small rectangle shaped lumbar pillow.

How to Arrange Six Pillows

To arrange a five pillow configuration as if you have used the skills of a designer, think about the shape and dimensions of the pillows. For added help, you may like to see some basic layouts for pillows on king beds.

In a neutral color palette you can create interest with texture and design. So begin layering two rectangular standard sized matching pillows, then for the next row, place three square shaped, slightly lower cushions. The middle cushion can contrast with the other pair.

Eight Eclectic Pillows on a King Bed

If you like texture and coziness over pristine and smart then this not quite made bed look will be the one you could select.

Layering pillows more haphazardly but cunningly with design will give warmth and softness to your bed. 

So take two large square matching cushions and intersperse them with two non-matching similar cushions in the back row. Then throw in another pillow in front, a rectangular small pillow and even a round cushion.

Nine (Ten!) Pillows in a King Bed

Soft and opulent, this is an exercise in adding as many pillows as you can to your bed. For the nine pillow look, start at the back with two ultra large square pillows, then add two in a design you love in the next row. Continue another identical pillow onto the row in front. 

Then put a square pillow of different design adjoining this third row. Have some fun with a round and rectangular cushion in the next row and finally a smaller rectangle cushion to finish. Oh, and if you really love pillows, why not place one just so on the floor below!
